I absolutely loved this little barn wedding!
I was recommended to this lovely family by another photographer and their family friend, which in itself was a privilege. It was the brides lovely mum Lynn who I dealt with initially as the situation was a little different than most. The couple themselves Emily and Gopi were living abroad in Kuala Lumper and had already had a Melbourne Registry Office wedding and a Hindu Ceremony! This was the English leg of their marriage lol and a chance to celebrate with friends and family here.
Owl’s Castle is actually not far from my home but is also very close to Emilys’ family home and was chosen partly for this reason but also due to the fact it has the most gorgeous old working barn, along with offering some amazing catering.
The theme was a kind of shabby chic, simple countryside decor, mixed in with beautiful sari’s to encompass Gopi’s Malaysian/Hindu background and the couples life together so far.
The whole wedding was a stunning and relaxed celebration of love and family! With the barn, a marquee on the lawn, guitar playing, a humanist celebrant, Hindu traditions, (oh and the resident cat! haha), drinks, canapés, a hog roast supper and dancing well into the night. ♥♥♥
