This shoot almost didn’t happen for me, as it was a busy wedding season(and its been busy ever since!) but I did feel I needed a break. A chance to hang out with friends, meet some new lovely people and just spend a relaxed day in a sunny lavender field, at Mayfield Lavender Farm.
A start was made, taking in our gorgeous surroundings and getting a few shots of the stunning little cake made for us, amongst the perfect setting of the lavender. Followed by a few casual, engagement style photos, catching the natural looks and laughs between the couple. The whole day just felt so chilled, I don’t know if it was the actual lavender itself, the buzzing of bees, the sunshine or the company but it really was a day to enjoy my love of photography.
We moved further into the fields after the couple had changed into wedding attire, with a beautiful, simple floaty dress for Sophie and a smart yet understated suit for Dave. Sophie’s lavender hair was an absolute dream within the landscape and made the whole thing come together easily. Coloured hair is a great idea for brides that like to keep most things more natural but want to add a bit WOW!
The love was obvious in this lavender, between the couple and the camera and when it comes this naturally, it makes my job am absolute pleasure as I only really have to capture whats there with a little artistic style.
On this summers day, there was nothing but smiles from me and as I drove home after saying goodbye to everyone I felt refreshed in my work and mind, ready to photograph the next beautiful wedding of the year….♥
If you’re planning on getting married in a Lavender Field…or any field actually, definitely get in touch!!!!! x
